Tina Dobrajc is an academically trained painter. She obtained her BA and MA in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. Her art was noticed and acknowledged very early: in 2011, she was nominated for the ESSL Art Award; in 2015, she was awarded the Rihard Jakopič recognition for young artists; a year later, her illustrations won her the Hinko Smrekar plaque. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions both at home and abroad. Her works often explore, question, and redefine the position of women in contemporary (Slovenian) society. While mostly making (larger) paintings, she is also active in the fields of illustration and theatre scenography.
