Polona Lovšin

Polona Lovšin graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. Her career began in 2003 when she illustrated the Medved išče pestunjo (Bear Searches for A Nanny, 2003) picture book. She then began publishing in children’s magazines (Zmajček, Cicido, Ciciban and Kekec) and illustrating numerous textbooks. She has created illustrations for more than picture books. She also collaborates with foreign publishing houses and exhibits at home and abroad. She presented her works at the Bologna Book Fair, and at biennials of illustration in Japan and in Bratislava. In 2006, she received the Original Slovenian Picture Book Award for her illustrations of Medo reši vsako zmedo (Bear Can Solve It, 2007).
