Amanda Gutiérrez: Sono-Soro

Women and LGTBQ+2 communities are invited to share their nighttime personal experiences strolling around Ljubljana. We will reflect upon positionality, intersectionality, and collaborative care. This self-reflective exercise can be achieved through collective embodiment in the public space aimed at artistic and political performativity. Through collective embodiment, Sono-Soro [walks] involves co-listening and resounding by activating an augmented reality walking score. Sono-Soro [walks] is a collaborative soundwalk that combines the audio recordings of female individuals and LGBQT+2 persons about their experience walking in urban space at night. The term comes from the collective Sono(soro)ridades, an ad-hoc group of feminist sound artists, activists and scholars interested in investigating sound’s affective and political dimensions. They organise public and academic activities to foster the development of exchange networks between scholars, activists and artists across the Americas and Europe. They also collaborate with other networks interested in developing sorority and solidarity through the sonic in all its dimensions.

You can listen to the podcast by Elena Biserna HERE.

The walk features the voices of local artists in Ljubljana as Lora, Kaja, Kate and Irena Pivka. In dialogue with sound producers such as Corazon de Robota (Chile), Aquelarre Subversiva (Bolivia) and Christina Hazboun (Palestine).

Coproduction: City of Women, CONA (Zavod za procesiranje sodobne umetnosti); support: Univerza Concordia
