BIG GIRLS DO BIG THINGS

What happens if somebody observes that you are like a polar bear that dances like a swan? When this refers to a “Hell of an interesting young woman” like Eleanor Bauer, then you know you’re going to witness a most singular solo dance performance. A performance charged with irony, and considered to be the »not-to-miss« theatre event of 2010, according to the De Morgen newspaper, who said 'Bauer crosses the boundaries of race, gender, type and physical limitations and potential, thus ultimately escaping her own body.'

In the performance BIG GIRLS DO BIG THINGS, Eleanor Bauer plunges headlong into investigating the performers’ inner world, placing us on a carousel of the different emotional states she confronts in her creative endeavours. This is a dance production about self-reflection and perception of the people around her, as well as the inexorable machinery of the cultural milieu, which is not only installed around and about, but also planted within us.
