DITKA HABERL
(Slovenia)

With her excellent voice and distinctive interpretation, the fiery-haired Ditka Haberl is considered one of the most prominent women in the Slovenian popular music scene. In her long career she has been perfectly able to interpret various music styles and communicate the ideas of a great many Slovenian composers from different generations. In recent years, she is often encountered on theatre stages, where she successfully pursues her art in the field of theatre-music.
At the opening night of this year's City of Women Festival, accompanied by the pianist Klemen Golnar and guest guitarist Bernard Hrušovar, Ditka Haberl will pamper the audience with love lyrics, singing memorable hits from Slovenian popular music, as well as film music.
The launch of Between Past & Future will thus be dedicated to nostalgia and the golden era of Slovenian popular music. (Urška Comino)

Marcella and The Forget Me Nots

(UK)

"Wonderfully terrifying, with tunes that stay in your head for days afterwards." - Wesley Nicholson, Muso's Guide (Dec 19, 2009)

Marcella and The Forget Me Nots are fast becoming one of the most talked about bands in London’s alternative music scene. Impossible to categorise and with influences as diverse as 1930’s Berlin, Klaus Nomi’s Baroque avant-garde and the art school rock bands of the 1970s, Marcella and her 7-strong all-female orchestra have been gaining accolades from magazines such as Brazilian Vogue, Bizarre Magazine and tastemakers’ choice Wears The Trousers. The orchestra first debuted in 2008 at The Chelsea Theatre’s Sacred Season of Performance Art – for which Marcella wrote a very successful site-specific show based on stories collected from Chelsea residents.
