La Folia is Jelena Popržan’s first solo project. The seasoned author and performer navigates various genres with the help of a five-string viola, a Jew’s harp, singing glasses, sound loops, and her own unique voice. The folk songs from all parts of the world, Viennese evergreens and Popržan’s original songs and covers in German, English, French and Serbian language also show influences of classical music, chamber music and jazz. The range of moods evoked by her music is enormous: from gentle, quiet moments to dance passages and dramatic explosiveness. La Folia is a strange, experimental and fun musical performance done in style.

Jelena Popržan, one of the most versatile and chameleon-like musicians in the country has created a breath-taking debut. Her unrestrainable boldness masterfully seeps into every corner of your soul, leading you on an adventurous journey through epochs and genres and across all boundaries right into the heart.
