Still Life

A friend of mine says that the time of silent lingering has come. The time of plant civilisation which in the absence of an actual event neurotically plays cards that can only give suspicious, or at minimum naïve, answers. Time became caught in its own prudence after we had been observing the germ of discontentment which always blossomed into a best seller. Thus my friend says: Don't think. And if you think, don't say it. Don't go out in the street when they call. Bolt the door twice and don't make a move. While you learn to linger silently, make sure your reactions are invisible and inaudible; be sure you suppress your odour, which stinks of wishes and fear. Because a friend of mine says: the time has come for still life… (Jasmina Žgank)
