Tuesday (Torek)

Tuesday is somewhere in between; it’s not Monday which is cranky, nor Wednesday that is in the middle, or Thursday which anticipates the weekend. In my view, Tuesday has the most difficult role of all weekdays, a sort of ungrateful one. Nonetheless, things can also happen on Tuesday – just an irrelevant day, which on the other hand, is a new day and potentially (perhaps?) a new start and a new life.
Thus Tuesday is a conglomerate of poetic dimensions of quotidian situations and questions shared by all. They are revealed through the character of Suzana performed by Suzana Koncut.

The performance is located within a model of a typical place we live in. Although the fact of being reduced and partially abstracted, makes it somehow clearer and more fascinating, and maybe taken less for granted than the life-size version in which we live or which we would like to live in. Part of performance is also Suzana’s nine-year old son Jan. His presence and spontaneity make the spectator feel the link between mother and son through manoeuvring between comprehension and ignorance, through common interests and no-way-out conflict situations, and ultimately though imagination and ‘reality’. By crossing these lines, Jan begins to perform in Suzana’s performing – impulsively and inevitably. (Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik)
